It is now time to start the ascent, a panoramic staircase that offers remarkable views back into the cave. With its 500 steps, the “Carlo Finocchiaro” stairway however is suitable for all ages, and there are solid handrails all along the stairway and every step is covered with anti-slip material. Take your time to catch your breath, rest and enjoy the magnificent views. On the top of the path a large artificial tunnel leads you to the “Belvedere”, a balcony overlooking the Great Cavern from a height of 95 meters! A short cave tunnel then takes you to the exit, a natural opening nearby the parking, which is located approximately 100 meters from the Visitor Centre.
